The new route opens up affordable travel choices for individuals looking to experience the romance of the Maldivian islands, both within the UAE and for self-connecting passengers coming from Central and Eastern Europe via the Wizz Air network.
“Offering the ideal vacation for relaxation, self-discovery, and picture-perfect moments, it’s no surprise that the Maldives is an ever-popular destination, We are thrilled to now be flying to this tropical paradise in keeping with our goal to providing our clients with top-notch low-cost travel experiences said Michael Berlouis, managing director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. This opens up new travel choices for individuals not only within the UAE but also for self-connecting travelers.
Additionally, it will be flown by the company’s fifth aircraft, an Airbus A321neo, which was just recently joined to the brand new fleet and “has the lowest fuel burn, emissions, and noise footprint.”
According to Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, Minister of Tourism, “The new route from Abu Dhabi would increase connectivity between the Maldives and the rest of the globe because of the broad global linkages UAE provides. I invite Emiratis and residents to visit the Maldives and take advantage of the welcoming culture there thanks to the improved connection between the UAE and the Maldives. More individuals can benefit from this practical connection as a result of the direct flights between Abu Dhabi and the Maldives. I hope Wizz Air’s new Maldives service is a success.
“The number of passengers visiting the Maldives has increased dramatically over the years, and this year, we are predicting a new record that is higher than the pre-covid records,” stated Mahjoob Shujau, CEO & MD of Maldives Airports Company ltd. As a significant player in the tourism sector, we want more airlines to begin offering direct flights to VIA so that we can draw more tourists from all over the world. After all, connecting the Maldives to the rest of the globe is our goal.
The new route would provide tourists and residents with hassle-free, economical international travel experiences. Tickets start at AED 359* on wizzair.com and the mobile app.
