President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced that 500,000 doses of the Astrazeneca-Oxford University developed COVID-19 vaccine will be received by the Maldives sometime next month.
Speaking at a press conference held today evening, the President revealed that the Astrazeneca company in Singapore had confirmed that the Maldives would receive the vaccine next month. President Solih stated that the company had informed the government of the decision in a meeting held today.
The administration of the second dose of the Astrazeneca-Oxford vaccine was put on hold last month, due to scarcity of the vaccine in the country.
