Bank of Maldives (BML) obtains a profit of MVR 724 million in the first 6 months, before the deduction of taxes.
According to BML, the amount is higher than what they estimated with a 5% increase compared to the MVR 499 million made during the first half of the previous year.
BML further stated that despite the expenses increased within the year, they managed to increase their profit by increasing the number of loans and through other services.
During the first six months, BML initiated 50 projects in various fields including education, environmental conversation, sports as well as in collaboration with nonprofit organizations. A total of MVR 300 million was invested in the programs.
