700 Indian Nationals to be Repatriated From Maldives

Military ship from India is scheduled to repatriate 700 Indian nationals stranded in Maldives due to lockdown measures, stated Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Communication Director of Ministry of Affairs, Mohamed Miuwan said a military ship from India is scheduled to come to Maldives on 1st June.

He also added that 700 Indian nationals are set to travel back to India on the ship.

Indian government said that with the help of Indian High Commission’s in Maldives and Sri Lanka, they are currently preparing a list of people to be repatriated from Maldives. Indian government assured that they will provide all necessary requirements of passengers during the journey.

Under the ‘Operation Samudra Setu’ by Indian government, 1488 Indians stranded in Maldives have been repatriated so far.
