The Ministry of Tourism has announced that this year, World Tourism Day will be celebrated in Addu City.
In a tweet last Thursday, the Ministry stated that the Maldives will mark the occasion with festivities to be held in Addu, and further thanked the Addu City Council for taking the initiative. The theme for this year’s Tourism Day is “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”.
World Tourism Day (WTD) is marked on 27th September every year. Due to the restrictions induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s WTD celebrations were not as exuberant as they typically are. Some activities were, however, conducted within the atolls.
