Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has yesterday signed with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) for harbour upgrading projects in Ha. Muraidhoo and L. Gan.
CEO Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC and Director General Ms. Fathimath Shaana Farooq signed on behalf of the MNPHI for both agreements.
One of the agreements signed was for the Ha. Muraidhoo Harbor Upgrading Project. Project works involve, dredging and excavation operations, construction of a 407m breakwater; a 50m groyne, a 105m revetment; a 212m quay wall; construction of a ramp (9m x 9m), construction of a 2m x 15m walkway bridge, installation of 1,703.61sqm harbor pavement and installation of harbor lights. The value of the project is MVR 33.72 million and the project is to be completed within 365 days.
The other agreement signed was for the design and build of L. Gan – Thundi Harbor Upgrading Project. Minister of Finance H.E Mr. Ibrahim Ameer and Parliament Member of Gamu Constituency H.E Mr. Mohamed Wisam graced the ceremony.
Project works of the L. Gan Harbour Upgrading Project involve, dredging and excavation operations, construction of a 488m breakwater; a 310m quay wall; construction of a 25m x 3m bridge, installation of 1,550sqm harbor pavement and installation of harbor lights. The value of the project is MVR 24.71 million and the project is to be completed within 365 days.
