Minister of Environment and Energy, Thoriq Ibrahim has taken part in the G-7 Environmental Ministerial Meeting held in Bologna, Italy.
The aim of Bologna meeting is to emphasize on the environmental challenges, notably the state of implementation of the goals set by the Paris Agreement to fight climate change and sustainable development goals set by the UN 2030 Agenda. Furthermore, to analyze the Environmental Tax Reform, Environmentally Harmful Subsidies, the role of Multilateral Tax Reform, Environmentally Harmful Subsidies, the role of Multilateral Development Banks, Green and Sustainable Finance issues. Additionally, ministers will discuss on traditional G7 important issues.
Another goal of this meeting is to launch the “Bologna Roadmap”. The Roadmap concentrates on some fundamental issues such as resource efficiency indicators, citizen involvement, awareness on food waste and the economic analysis of the efficient use of resources.
This meeting will be held between 11th to 12th June in Bologa, Italy and will be attended by the Environmental Ministers of the seven countries and Commissioners of the European Union for Environment and Climate and by the environmental ministers of four outreach countries namely Chile, Maldives, Ethiopia and Rwanda.
