The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has reignited its efforts in developing infrastructure across multiple regions, resuming the construction of roads in 17 islands.
RDC has initiated projects in four northern islands, namely Ha. Dhidhdhoo, Kulhudhuffushi City, Sh. Milandhoo, R. Hulhudhuffaaru. The central region will see enhancements in N. Holhudhoo, N. Velidhoo, Lh. Hinnavaru, M. Mulah, Male City (Ameenee Magu), ADh. Maamigili and Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, and Th. Thimarafushi. Meanwhile, the southern segment includes L. Gan Phase 2, GA. Kolamaafushi, GA. Villingili Phase 2, GDh. Thinadhoo Phase 2, and GDh. Gadhdhoo. A notable aspect of this widespread development is the continued work on Ameenee Road. RDC has resumed the final stages of this project.
Awarded the Ameenee Road contract in July of the previous year, RDC was initially set to complete the project by February. However, due to delays, the completion timeline was pushed to September. Despite these setbacks, the 11th segment of Ameenee Road saw completion in early September.
