The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has opened applications for fishermen who wish to apply for representation on Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company’s (MIFCO) board. Applications are accepted until 13:30 hrs, 11th January.
The call for applications invites interested fishermen to contribute to shaping the policies and decisions that impact the fisheries industry.

The announcement, in line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s policy, aims to ensure that fishermen and those involved in the fisheries sector receive governmental recognition comparable to other professions.
The initiative is a key step towards aligning with the ‘Hafuthaa 14’ roadmap, a strategic plan set forth by the current administration.
