Team Husbulhi has been crowned champions of the Ooredoo Masrace 2024, claiming the grand prize of MVR 25,000 in a highly competitive fishing tournament. The final leg of the event took place in Lh. Naifaru, concluding this year’s series of competitions.
This year’s Ooredoo Masrace was held in three locations—K. Himmafushi, Lh. Naifaru, and GDh. Thinadhoo—as part of Ooredoo Maldives’ 19th anniversary celebrations. Teams from across the nation participated, competing in various categories, with special awards recognizing outstanding individual and team performances.
Final Results:
- Champion Team: Husbulhi – 921.4 points
- 2nd Place: Chill Broz – 698.45 points
- 3rd Place: Team Korakali – 438.3 points
- Heaviest Catch: Mohamed Nasheed (Team Alifas) with a 9.4 kg Muda Handhi
- Best Fisherman: Ali Abdulla (Chill Broz) with 24 fish
- Best Fisherwoman: Jawada Ahmed (Team Korakali) with 15 fish
The Ooredoo Masrace 2024 witnessed intense competition and camaraderie. Ooredoo has been hosting the event on an annual basis as a celebration of the Maldives’ rich fishing heritage since 2009.
