The Cabinet convened a working session at the President’s Office on Tuesday to assess the progress of the government’s priority infrastructure initiatives. The meeting brought together Cabinet Ministers and the Managing Directors of key State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), including the State Trading Organization (STO), Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO), Fenaka Corporation Limited, Road Development Corporation (RDC), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), and Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).
The session provided a platform for each SOE head and minister to present updates on their assigned projects, highlighting current progress and ongoing challenges. Discussions centred on strategies to overcome implementation hurdles and ensure the efficient execution of infrastructure works across the country.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who presided over the session, underscored the urgency of adhering to project timelines. Stressing the importance of timely delivery, he encouraged all parties involved to expedite efforts while maintaining transparency and accountability. The President also urged his Administration to keep the public informed about developments and milestones achieved in major infrastructure projects.
