Dhiraagu has celebrated the efforts of its employees at its annual awards ceremony, held this year at Crossroads Maldives. The event recognised long-serving staff and individuals who demonstrated exceptional commitment and innovation throughout 2024.
A total of 96 employees were honoured, including 53 staff members recognised for their years of service, marking milestones of 10, 15, and 25 years with the company. Additionally, 42 employees received awards for outstanding performance and impact. This included 14 Divisional Merit Awards, 11 Special Merit Awards, 15 Innovation Awards, and 2 Outstanding Leaders Awards.
The most prestigious accolade of the evening, the Chairperson’s Award, was presented to Mohamed Shamoon Shafeeg from the Transport Networks team. Shamoon was instrumental in spearheading key projects last year, notably the deployment of five new submarine cable links under the Domestic Submarine Cable System project. His work also extended to strategic infrastructure efforts such as upgrades to the Maldives-Sri Lanka Cable System, the SMW6 land route, and the construction of beach manholes.
Speaking at the event, Dhiraagu CEO and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed highlighted the company’s commitment to recognising its people. The event served as a reminder of the integral role staff play in driving the company’s vision forward, particularly in enhancing digital connectivity across the Maldives.
Dhiraagu reaffirmed its aim to continue empowering its workforce while pushing the boundaries of service innovation and digital experience for its customers.
