Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has announced special return fares from Malé to three major Chinese cities: Shanghai, Chengdu and Beijing.
The promotion is valid for travel between 28 October and 15 November 2025, offering passengers an opportunity to explore China at discounted rates. Return fares start at USD 449 for Chengdu, and USD 499 for both Shanghai and Beijing.
Flights are scheduled with overnight departures from Malé and early morning arrivals in China, designed to allow passengers to begin their day upon landing. The return flights to Malé also arrive in the morning, ensuring convenient onward connections to domestic islands.
The flight schedule includes weekly services: Malé to Shanghai on Mondays, Malé to Chengdu on Wednesdays, and Malé to Beijing on Thursdays. Return services operate the following morning or, in the case of Beijing, on Saturdays.
Maldivian highlighted that Maldivian passport holders can benefit from a 30-day free visa on arrival in China under the mutual visa exemption agreement between the two countries.
The airline also encouraged travellers to explore iconic destinations, from the Bund and Yu Garden in Shanghai, to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, and Beijing’s Great Wall and Forbidden City.
Tickets are available through Maldivian’s website, mobile app, authorised sales agents, email, or the 24/7 call centre.
