Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced that it will raise the monthly foreign transaction limits for its credit cards, effective 1 February 2026.
The new limits are set in three tiers: USD 1,400 per month for Classic Credit Card holders, USD 1,500 for Gold Credit Card holders, and USD 3,000 for Platinum Credit Card holders. Current limits stand at USD 750 per month for Classic and Gold cards, and USD 1,500 for Platinum cards.
BML clarified that these limits apply to each customer’s credit card in addition to existing debit card limits.
In November, the bank raised the monthly foreign transaction limit on debit cards to USD 3,000 for travel and medical expenses, and USD 1,000 for point-of-sale transactions abroad.
The bank’s adjustment exceeds this previous figure for Platinum Card holders, offering greater flexibility for high-value international transactions.
