STO Healthcare Expands Cardiac Imaging Capacity at Hulhumalé Hospital

Diagnostic capabilities at Hulhumalé Hospital have been enhanced with the installation of an advanced cardiovascular ultrasound system supplied by STO Healthcare, expanding the hospital’s capacity to conduct specialised cardiac assessments for patients across age groups.

The newly installed GE Vivid E95 cardiovascular ultrasound system is designed to provide high-resolution imaging of heart structure, function and blood flow. Its configuration includes probes suitable for adult, paediatric and neonatal use, enabling clinicians to perform comprehensive cardiac evaluations and support early detection of congenital heart conditions in newborns.

To support the integration of the system into clinical practice, a structured application training session was conducted at Hulhumalé Hospital on 22 February 2026. Healthcare professionals from the hospital participated in the session, alongside representatives from Tree Top Hospital, reflecting coordination across institutions to strengthen cardiac imaging services.

The system was delivered through STO Healthcare’s authorised partnership with GE HealthCare, an international medical imaging and healthcare technology company. Under this partnership, STO Healthcare supplies ultrasound and diagnostic equipment to national healthcare facilities, alongside installation, training and technical support.

Cardiovascular disease continues to present significant health risks globally, placing emphasis on early and accurate diagnosis. The availability of advanced cardiac imaging technology within Hulhumalé Hospital is expected to improve diagnostic efficiency and clinical decision-making, while reducing the need for referrals abroad for specialised evaluations.

In addition to equipment supply, STO Healthcare provides installation services, application training and ongoing technical support through biomedical engineers and clinical specialists. The system is covered by warranty and supported through preventive maintenance and after-sales services aimed at maintaining operational reliability.

The addition of the GE Vivid E95 system forms part of broader efforts to strengthen specialised diagnostic services within the domestic healthcare network and improve access to advanced medical imaging in the Greater Malé region.
