Multimedia Studio Opens at Dh. Atoll Education Centre With Support From BML Bank Fund

Students at Dh. Atoll Education Centre in Kudahuvadhoo now have access to a dedicated multimedia production facility following the opening of a new studio established through support from the Bank of Maldives’ Bank Fund programme.

The studio was developed by United Islamic Society (UIS), a Kudahuvadhoo-based non-governmental organisation and a recipient of the 2025 Bank Fund. The facility has been set up to support the school’s Media Club and provide students with practical experience in digital media production.

Serving more than 800 students, Dh. Atoll Education Centre has an active Media Club that previously faced challenges due to limited equipment. The new studio introduces a fully equipped workspace designed to support video production, broadcasting and digital content creation.

The facility includes professional cameras, lighting kits, audio recording equipment, editing computers and live streaming hardware. These tools are expected to allow students to produce videos, broadcast school events, compile reports and develop educational content for the school’s official YouTube channel.

Beyond school activities, the studio is also expected to support nearby islands and local institutions by providing media production services. The project also aims to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing within the wider community.

According to UIS, the studio will function as both a training and production hub, helping students develop practical media and digital communication skills.

Management of the facility will be shared between the school and UIS. A dedicated team will oversee the studio’s operations, including training for students, routine maintenance of equipment and potential collaborations with community partners that could generate revenue to support the studio’s sustainability.

The Bank Fund programme is an annual initiative by Bank of Maldives that selects five community projects each year to receive funding of MVR 200,000. The programme focuses on projects intended to benefit communities across the Maldives.
