Auditors Forum 2026 to Focus on Trust, Technology and Transparency

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives is set to convene audit professionals, regulators and industry stakeholders for the Auditors Forum 2026, with this year’s discussions focused on how assurance practices are adapting to technology, transparency demands and emerging risks.

The forum, organised by CA Maldives in collaboration with the Auditor General’s Office, will be held on 16 May 2026 at Meerumaa Hall. It is expected to bring together audit professionals, partners from leading audit firms, regulators and other stakeholders involved in the profession.

This year’s forum will be held under the theme “Redefining Assurance. Trust. Technology. Transparency.” The theme reflects the changing role of auditors as economic uncertainty, market disruptions, technological advancement and rising regulatory expectations reshape the profession.

The forum will cover several areas affecting audit practice, including auditing during periods of economic, market and conflict-driven risk, the use of artificial intelligence, automation and data analytics in current audit practices, and ESG assurance under ISSA 5000.

A panel discussion will also examine fraud, ethics and professional scepticism in high-risk environments, including whether the audit profession is evolving quickly enough to respond to current challenges.

CA Maldives has invited audit firms and industry experts to take part as speakers and panellists. The forum is intended to support knowledge sharing and professional dialogue on the future of assurance and auditing in the Maldives.

The event forms part of CA Maldives’ broader work to support professional development, improve assurance practices and strengthen public trust in the audit profession.
