BML Urges Vigilance Amid Spike in Fraud Phone Calls

Bank of Maldives (BML) has released a statement urging vigilance, stating that a number of customers continue to receive phone calls from parties impersonating the bank. Customers are often asked to provide their account or card information and are requested to transfer funds to another account due to system issues.

BML states that it will never call customers and request for personal information, and will never ask customers to transfer funds to another account in any circumstance. The bank will also never contact customers from a mobile number.
