Boutique island resort in Baa Atoll, Milaidhoo now Open

Set in the heart of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the Baa Atoll region, the luxury boutique resort Milaidhoo Island Maldives is now open. Designed by architect Mohamed Shafeeq, the resort aims to offer “barefoot informality” and offer a classic, relaxed Maldivian holiday for guests.

The resort offers 50 villas made with materials and fittings custom-made for Milaidhoo. Spacious outdoor living is designed to incorporate the natural beauty of the Maldives into the rooms. Standing on stilts over the lagoon are 30 over-water villas. All villas have large private freshwater swimming pools.

Milaidhoo will offer three restaurants and two bars, serving Maldivian cuisine, cocktails and wine from boutique winemakers. The resort’s signature restaurant is over water and is shaped like three Maldivian sailing boats.

The island’s spa consists of four treatment suites set on stilts over the lagoon where guests will also enjoy daily complimentary yoga and meditation classes on the custom-built pavilion. The small, Intimate and chic Island will be managed by the Universal Enterprises.
