The Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Ambassador Masud Bin Momen has arrived on an official visit to the Maldives yesterday afternoon.
The Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh is visiting the Maldives on the invitation of the Foreign Secretary of Maldives Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed, to hold the first the bilateral consultations between the respective foreign ministries, as prescribed under the ‘Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of Bilateral Consultations’ that was signed between the two countries in March 2021.
During the official consultations, the two Foreign Secretaries will review bilateral cooperation and progress in the implementation of agreements established between both countries, as well as discuss new areas of cooperation.
Foreign Secretary Ambassador Masud bin Momen’s is expected to call on Vice President Faisal Naseem, Minister of Economic Development, Uz. Fayyaz Ismail and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, during the two-day visit.
Foreign Secretary Ambassador Masud bin Momen’s delegation includes high-level officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Expatriates Welfare and Employment and Ministry of Home Affairs of Bangladesh. The Foreign Secretary and delegation were welcomed at Velana International Airport by Chief of Protocol Aishath Shaan Shakir and Joint Secretary Fathimath Ghina.
