Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment for the development of skilled youth in the Maldives under the National Apprenticeship Program.
This MoU was signed by HDC’s Managing Director Suhail Ahmed and Youth Minister Ahmed Mahloof.
HDC stated that their apprenticeship program 2022 holds an utmost importance to them in building the skillset and to help set sail of the apprentices careers. Apprentices who complete the program will receive a National Level III Certificate accredited by the Maldives Qualifications Authority.
HDC is opening up for 100 slots in this program and also their own 30 employees interested to partake in the selected categories will be given the chance to do so.
Apprentices will be trained in 10 fields under the six-month program. They are:
- Welding
- Plumbing
- Electrician
- Carpenter
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic
- Construction Site Supervisor
- Assistant Building Maintenance Officer
- Mason
- Gardener
- Heavy Vehicle Operator
National Apprenticeship Program is an initiative by the Government of the Maldives for Training a generation of Practitioners of a Trade or Occupation with on-the-job Training with the help and supervision of the Industry/Occupation Leaders in the Maldives.
