Luxury hotel chain, Hilton will open a new boutique resort in the Maldives, following a franchise agreement with Singha Estate.
The new resort will be an addition to Hilton’s Curio Collection portfolio which consists of nearly 50 upscale independent hotels around the world. The new Curio Collection property will form part of ‘Crossroads’ project – the first ever integrated resort, which is currently under development in Emboodhoo Lagoon, Maldives.
The new resort will open at the end of 2018 and will be managed by a subsidiary company of Singha Estate, S Hotels & Resorts.
In an interview given to international travel media, global brand head of Curio Collection by Hilton, Mr Mark Nogal stated that opening the first Curio Collection hotel in the Maldives is a very exciting milestone for the company. “The Maldives is renowned for being a one-of-a-kind tropical paradise and we are confident that the resort will offer curious travellers seeking an authentic experience truly memorable accommodations.”
The resort will boast 198 guest rooms, beach villas and overwater villas, as well as facilities such as a fitness centre and swimming pool. In addition to duty free shops and multiple restaurants, guests will also enjoy a beach club, watersports, a dive centre, a cultural centre and a kids club.
Along with Hilton’s Curio Collection, the multi-national hospitality company will be opening Hilton’s traditional luxury brand, Waldorf Astoria in the Maldives. Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi, which is developed on the recently reclaimed Ithaafushi in Kaafu Atoll, will be opening in 2019.
