Island Aviation Services Ltd has announced the appointment of Mohamed Mihad as the new Chairman of its Board. Mihad, who served as the Managing Director of the company until November 18 last year, brings extensive experience to his new role.
Mihad’s tenure as Managing Director, which began in March, spanned three years, during which he played a pivotal role in steering the company through various challenges and innovations. His leadership skills and profound understanding of the aviation industry are expected to be instrumental in his new position as Chairman.
Prior to his time at Island Aviation, Mihad’s career was marked by notable positions in other leading organisations. He served as a Board Director at Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and was also the Managing Director of the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), demonstrating a broad range of expertise in the aviation and tourism sectors.
The change in leadership comes at a time of strategic shifts within the company. On November 28, 2013, Island Aviation Services Ltd welcomed Ibrahim Iyas as its new Managing Director.
These appointments are part of a broader trend observed since the inception of the new government, which has been actively involved in appointing individuals to senior positions and boards of various companies.
