The 2nd edition of Travel Trade Maldives (TTM) is scheduled to be held on May 1st, 2nd and 3rd of May 2018.
Maldives Getaways recently concluded the first ever Travel Trade Maldives on July 12th and 13th 2017. TTM saw the travel trade community of the Maldives connect with the local and global network of travel trade professionals easily and instantly.
TTM 2017 was kick started by the first ever Hotelier Summit with over 200 tourism professionals in attendance, attendees included resort and hotel general managers, resident managers, key hotel owners, International travel trade stakeholders and travel industry professionals. A total of 4 panels took place at the summit in which more than 80 general managers from resorts and hotels of Maldives took part in.
Organisers revealed that over 3000 scheduled meetings took place over the period of 2 days with over USD $ 1 billion worth of business contracts were discussed. As the main component of TTM that connect the travel trade community of Maldives, using the handy connect software registered users pre-scheduled face-to-face meetings with the most powerful decision makers in the industry. Over 100 hoteliers set meetings with over 150 agents and tour operators from across the globe.
The first ever “Tourism Career Fair” was also held during Travel Trade Maldives (TTM) at the National Art Gallery on the 13th of July 2017. More than 2000 visitors attended the tourism career fair as a major component of TTM.
Apart from hosting the first ever tourism career fair, TTM Gala Night was hosted at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi on the 13th of July 2017, where agents and exhibitors alike got to network and connect.
TTM 2nd edition has been extended to a 3 days event in order to increase the number of pre scheduled meetings among exhibitors and agents alike. It is widely believed that over 150 properties from Maldives will take part in TTM, while over 200 operators, agents and media are expected to be in Maldives for this event.
TTM is the first of its kind to be held in the Maldives acting as a platform where stakeholders of the industry met in one place to finalise deals that would define the tourism industry of Maldives.
