The Maldives has explored fresh avenues for international collaboration on green innovation, climate action, and sustainable development during two environmental summits in Hong Kong.

State Minister Inaya led the Maldivian delegation alongside Deputy Minister Ali Nasir across both the Innovation Conference and the concurrent Eco Expo Asia Conference.

The Ministry confirmed that the dual platforms enabled the delegation to reinforce ties with global stakeholders dedicated to environmental protection. Throughout the proceedings, the Maldivian representatives exchanged policy insights, reviewed technical advancements, and identified prospective joint ventures aimed at curbing ecological degradation.

According to ministerial officials, the discussions yielded significant opportunities to deploy innovative solutions across several key sectors, including renewable transition frameworks, ecological conservation programmes, and climate resilience projects.

The Ministry emphasised that engaging in such high-level multilateral forums directly bolsters the nation’s domestic environmental agenda. For a low-lying archipelago confronting severe, immediate vulnerabilities from rising sea levels and global temperature anomalies, securing robust international partnerships and cutting-edge green technologies remains a central priority.
