Maldives Association or Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (MATATO) has taken part in the biggest travel event in northern Europe, the Matka Nordic Travel Fair.
The four-day event that began in Helsinki, Finland, today is target towards the introduction of new products, networking and meetings with suppliers.
MATATO said that nine Maldivian companies including resorts, travel agents and guesthouses are taking part in the fair. They said that the fair would open the third biggest outbound travel market to the Maldives.
The Nordic countries are refered to as Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, along with their associated territories which make up a population of about 25 million people and has an annual spending of about USD 20 billion on outbound travel.
