Maxx Royal Resorts is preparing to enter the Maldivian tourism market with the opening of Maxx Royal Maldives in autumn 2027, marking the hospitality brand’s first resort outside Türkiye.

Located in Kaafu Atoll, Maxx Royal Maldives will be accessible by a 30-minute speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport. The development will comprise interconnected islands containing accommodation, restaurants, social areas and private facilities.

The resort will offer overwater and garden villas, with each unit featuring a private pool. Multi-bedroom villas will also be available for families and larger groups.

A limited collection of villas at the secluded end of the development will form a private enclave with its own beach, wellness facilities and a dedicated service team. Guests staying on Thari Island will have access to Kiaya, the resort’s butler service.

Maxx Royal Maldives is also expected to introduce several international restaurant concepts. Its dining portfolio will include Leña by Spanish chef Dani García and Spago by chef Wolfgang Puck.

Other venues will serve Latin American, Persian, Japanese and Turkish cuisine, including Casa Sol and Caviar Kaspia. The resort will also operate all-day venues such as Twenty4, a pool bar and Le Melange & Chocolatier by Maxx Royal.

Guests will be offered pre-arrival concierge assistance through the Maxx Assistant programme, which will coordinate dining arrangements, preferences and other elements of their stay before they reach the resort.

Facilities for younger guests will include Maxxi Land and the Young Royals Club, with activities designed for different age groups.

The resort also plans to establish a Marine Biology Centre and introduce a Manta Protection Programme as part of its environmental initiatives. These programmes are intended to support marine conservation and reduce the property’s impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

The opening will extend Maxx Royal’s operations beyond its existing hospitality portfolio in Türkiye and add another international brand to the Maldives’ luxury resort market.
