Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), received MVR 12.6 billion
as tax in the year 2018.
According to the statistic report published by MIRA, the amount of tax received in the year 2018 is 6.58% higher compared to the year 2017 and the highest income was received by the means of GST which was MVR 7.68 billion.
In December 2018, MIRA received most of its income from GST, totaling an amount of MVR 630.2 million. The second highest income was from renting land for touristic purposes, adding up to a total amount of MVR 352 million. In addition, they also received MVR 66.65 million as green tax and MVR 58.23 million as airport service charge.
