Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced bus driving and heavy vehicle operation courses for women.
MPL has stated that this is an apprenticeship program open for women only. Under this program, participants will be learning to drive and operate buses, terminal tractors, forklifts, and cranes.
This apprenticeship is open for women between the ages of 18 – 35, who have completed grade 10 education. Participants of this program will get a special allowance also the opportunity to learn work for six months. Also, selected participants will get MVR 6,000 as an allowance.
Furthermore, those who complete this apprenticeship and achieve certificates will be awarded heavy vehicle operating licenses and will secure permanent employment at the company.
MPL also revealed that this apprenticeship program will be introduced under TIVET Authority’s National Apprenticeship Program, thus those who successfully complete the program will be awarded TIVET Authority National Level III certificates.
The announcement made by the company also stated that interested candidates must submit their applications and certificates before the 30th of January.
