Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) to implement various coastal protection and harbour development projects.
For each of these projects, CEO of MTCC Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC and Permanent Secretary Ms. Zeeniya Hameed signed on behalf of MNPHI.
Firstly, the company signed with the Ministry towards implementing Lh. Kurendhoo Coastal Protection Project. MP Abdul Ghanee Abdul Hakeem of Kurendhoo Constituency graced the signing ceremony. Scope of works include, 91,000cbm beach filling, construction of a 361m breakwater and a 822m revetment. The value of the project is MVR 44.92 million and the project is to be completed within 365 days.
Additionally, the company was contracted for B. Hithaadhoo Harbor Development Project. Scope of works include, dredging and excavation operations of 19,030cbm, construction of a 22m groyne, a 495m breakwater, a 90m revetment, a 350m quay wall, installation of a 1750sqm harbor pavement, navigational aids and harbor lights. The value of the project is MVR 17.70 million and the project is to be completed within 540 days.
The company was also contracted for the implementation of the Sh. Milandhoo Coastal Protection Project. MP Ali Riza of Milandhoo Constituency graced the signing ceremony. Scope of works include construction of a 954m revetment and a 115m groyne. The value of the project is MVR 36.69 and the project is to be completed within 200 days.
Lastly, the most valuable project of the four, the R. Kinolhas Harbor Development Project was also contracted to MTCC. MP Hassan Ahmed of Inguraidhoo Constituency graced the ceremony. Scope of works include, dredging and excavation operations construction of a 162m groyne, a 285m breakwater, a 65m revetment, a 186m quay wall, a ramp, installation of a 1663.36sqm harbor pavement, navigational aids and harbor lights. The value of the project is MVR 45.12 million and the project is to be completed within 420 days.
