Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), has provided an update on projects in Ha. Hoarafushi, Aa. Maalhos and Ha. Ihavandhoo.
The casting works & installation of electrical junction box & pipe laying works for Ha. Hoarafushi Road Construction Project are ongoing at 83% & 36% completion respectively. Additionally, curbstone installation works are now ongoing.
The scope of the project includes, construction of 11 roads measuring 5.3km in length, construction of a 25,909 sqm carriageway, installation of 11,114sqm pavement, installation of stormwater infiltration system, streetlights and road markings. The value of the project is MVR 71.90 million.
Moreover, breakwater profiling works of AA. Maalhos Harbor Development Project is currently ongoing at 61% completion. We have already completed the dredging operations during the month of March 2022. Overall project progress is now at 45% completion.
Scope of works involve, dredging and excavation operations of 24,335cbm, construction of a 394m quay wall, a 407m breakwater, a 100m revetment, a 56m groyne, installation of 1970sqm harbor pavement, construction of a ramp and installation of harbor lights. The value of the project is MVR 56.9 million.
Furthermore, MTTC has completed the works of Ha. Ihavandhoo Ferry Terminal Project. This terminal has been built to provide service under the Integrated National Public Ferry Network Project for Zone 01. The newly built terminal will have facilities such as a commercial area, parent room, luggage storage, tuck shop and separate male / female toilet to provide a better service for our customers.
