TTM Organisers, Maldives Getaways have revealed that over 3000 scheduled meetings have taken place and over USD $ 1 billion worth of business contracts have been discussed during the two days of Travel Trade Maldives (TTM).
As the main component of TTM that connects the travel trade community of Maldives, Using the handy Connect software registered users pre-scheduled face-to-face meetings with the most powerful decision makers in the industry. Over 100 hoteliers set meetings with over 150 agents and tour operators from across the globe.
When given the ability, hoteliers and agents set prescheduled meetings of 15 minutes totalling 40 meetings in the span of 2 days of TTM. Meetings went on from 11 am to 11 am to 6 pm on the 12th July and 9 am to 6 pm on the 13th of July with snack breaks in between. TTM is the first of its kind to be held in the Maldives acting as a platform where stakeholders of the industry met in one place to finalise deals that would define the tourism industry of Maldives.
World tourism is seeing an ever-increasing growth, while the Maldives government has plans to develop over 50 resorts before the end of 2018. A major focus of TTM is to address ways in which demand would meet the ever-growing supply planned for the tourism industry of the country while looking at the future. It is estimated that by the year 2020, Maldives would have over 50,000 beds.
As the 2nd day of meetings draws to the end, Maldives Getaways is prepping for Tourism Career Fair 2017.
