Nominations for the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025, presented by Bestbuy Maldives (BBM), have closed with over 450 entries, reflecting strong industry engagement in recognising top professionals in Maldivian hospitality.
The awards, scheduled for May 2025, celebrate individuals who contribute to the success of the Maldives’ tourism and hospitality sector. Launched in 2024, the first edition received more than 300 nominations and 100,000 public votes. This year’s event introduces four new categories aimed at acknowledging the diverse roles within the industry:
- Watersports Personality of the Year
- Diving Personality of the Year
- Airport Representative of the Year
- Resort Manager of the Year
An independent panel of judges will now review and shortlist nominees from February 20 to March 10. The final selection will be based on a combined evaluation, with 60% from judges’ scores and 40% from public votes. The public voting phase is set to take place from March 20 to April 20, with winners announced at a gala ceremony in May.
