Stalled government development projects are to be restarted and accelerated following a presidential instruction to the Cabinet, after the government reported that solutions had been secured for material shortages linked to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
The instruction came during a Cabinet working session at the President’s Office, where ministers and heads of State-Owned Enterprises reviewed progress on electoral pledges and development projects across the Maldives.
Discussions focused on the status of ongoing initiatives and measures to speed up their delivery. The President directed Cabinet members to swiftly resume numerous projects that had stalled, citing the resolution of material supply constraints.
The President also called for closer coordination and renewed commitment to completing each project within its stipulated deadline, placing responsibility on the institutions involved to translate the resumption of work into timely delivery.
