Saudi Prince, President Muizzu Discuss Expanding Trade and Investment Cooperation

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and Saudi Arabian Minister of State Prince Dr Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud have discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, including in trade and investment, during a courtesy call at the President’s Office.
Prince Mansour, an Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Cabinet Member of Saudi Arabia, is visiting the Maldives as Guest of Honour for the country’s 61st Independence Day celebrations. He is attending on behalf of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, following an invitation from President Muizzu.
The Saudi delegation received a ceremonial welcome upon its arrival in Malé.
During the meeting, President Muizzu thanked the Saudi leadership for accepting the invitation to take part in the Independence Day celebrations. He also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued support for the Maldives, including through the Makkah Route Initiative, which facilitates travel arrangements for Maldivian pilgrims undertaking Hajj.
Prince Mansour said Saudi Arabia’s leadership places special importance on the Maldives’ development and welfare.
The two sides discussed ways to deepen the longstanding relationship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, which is rooted in shared faith and mutual respect. They also considered opportunities for wider cooperation in trade, investment and other areas of mutual interest.
