According to the statistics released by the Tourism Ministry for the month of August, 112,282 tourists visited the country, which is an increase of 1.9% as compared with the 110,144 tourists of the same period last year.
Most tourists arrived from China, 36,217 which is 32% market share. However, this is an 11% decreased when compare with last years’ stats at 40,850 for the same period. Second highest tourist influx was from England at 8,852 tourists coming into the country. This is a 13% increase from last years’ figures. Coming in third are the tourists from Germany at 6,869 which is a decrease when compared with the same period last year.
The region with most visitors is the Asia Pacific with 57.679 which is 51.4% of the total tourists that came into the country. This is a significant increase from last years’ stats. Up until now 842،635 tourists have come into the country which is a 2.3% increase from 2015.
