Turkish Airlines Resumes Daily Flights to Maldives

Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier airline of Turkey, is now operating daily flights from Istanbul, Turkey to Male’, Maldives from 1st – 17th January 2021.

The airline commenced operations to the island nation on 7th August, after a temporary halt in March due to the pandemic. Since then, Turkish Airlines has been operating weekly flights to the Maldives every Friday. The aircrafts used for the scheduled flights had a capacity of 349 passengers, 49 seats in Business Class and 300 seats in Economy Class.

For the safety of guests and crew, Turkish Airlines has specified new criteria and taken new measures in all procedures together with health authorities. The airline developed safety measures to be taken at the airport, during boarding, on the flight as well as when disembarking the flight.

Maldives reopened borders to all nationalities from 15th July 2020. All visitors are granted a 30-day free on-arrival visa with a confirmed booking for a stay at any registered tourist facility in the country.

While there is no mandatory quarantine or testing on arrival, tourists traveling to Maldives are required to complete an online health declaration form and provide a negative PCR test result taken at least 96 hours prior to their departure.
