The tourism industry received another boost this month with the arrival of two luxury cruise liners. On the 14th of April, MS Artania docked in Malé harbour, carrying 1,200 passengers and 530 crew. The vessel arrived from Colombo, Sri Lanka, as part of its 143-day “Easter, Art” themed voyage from Hamburg, Germany to Savona, Italy.
Another elegant liner, Crystal Serenity, is expected to arrive in Malé shortly. Crystal Serenity is on a 142-day, round-trip “Easter” World Cruise that began and will end in Miami, Florida. With a capacity of 740 passengers and 655 crew members, the Bahamas-flagged liner will mark the eighth cruise ship to visit the Maldives this year.
The arrival of these liners illustrates the growing popularity of the Maldives as a cruise destination. The archipelago’s stunning natural beauty, diverse marine life, and luxurious resorts offer a unique and unforgettable experience for cruise passengers.
