Two tourists from the Philippines have drowned while swimming in the small channel between Meeru Island Resort and Dhiffushi Island on the 13th of January 2019.
Police stated that the incident was reported on Sunday around 11 am while affirming that the drowned individuals were a couple, a 29 year old man along with a 30 year old woman, who were vacationing in a Dhiffushi guest house.
They were declared as dead after being taken to Dhiffushi hospital. An investigation is now ongoing so as to look into the incident in a deeper manner.
