Villa College has opened applications for courses scheduled to begin in the January 2024 intake.
These courses cover a broad range of subjects, including information technology, computer science, teaching (with subjects such as Islam, Qur’an, Dhivehi, and English), secondary business and science subjects, as well as education, Shariah, law, tourism and hospitality, business management, aviation management, international business, and economics.
In total, there are 190 courses available, spanning various disciplines like psychology, public health, interior architecture and design, health services management, project management, hospitality management, mass communication, and culinary arts.
The intake includes 21 master’s level courses, 26 postgraduate diploma and post-postgraduate certificate level courses, 45 degree-level courses, 50 diploma-level courses, 17 foundation-level courses, 17 certificate-3 level courses, and one certificate-level course. Additionally, admissions have been opened for one national certificate IV course and ten certificate three courses offered by the Maldives National Skills Development Authority (MNSDA).
The engineering programmes at Villa College have been officially validated by the University of Portsmouth, UK, allowing students to progress to the final year of their degree at the University of Portsmouth after completing their first three years at Villa College.
Villa College also offers partnership programmes with Taylor’s University, Malaysia, allowing students to complete part of their coursework at Villa College and the remainder in Malaysia. An ACCA accelerator programme is available exclusively for ACCA students, with opportunities to pursue an applied accounting course from BSc (Honours) at Oxford Brookes University, UK. Students can also choose from various courses accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) at different levels of certification.
For the January 2024 intake, Villa College offers both online and in-person courses. Additionally, master’s and undergraduate degree programmes are available from the University of the West of England.
Courses will be conducted at multiple campuses, including the QI campus in Male’ City, Villa College Naifaru Campus, Villa College Gun Campus, Villa College Mahibadhoo Campus, Villa College Hithadhoo Campus, and Villa College Kulhudhuffushi Campus.
The application deadline is Saturday, December 23, 2023, with classes commencing in the last week of January.
To support fee payments, Villa College offers a monthly instalment payment system, and students can benefit from the government’s free first-degree scheme, allowing them to enrol in bachelor’s degree programmes without tuition fees.
