Public voting has commenced for the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025, presented by Bestbuy Maldives (BBM), giving the public a chance to recognise outstanding professionals in the Maldives’ tourism and hospitality industry. The voting period runs from 25 March to 25 April.
The awards, scheduled to take place in May 2025, celebrate excellence in the country’s hospitality sector. Following a successful debut in 2024, which attracted over 300 nominations and 100,000 public votes, this year’s edition has seen an even greater response. By the time nominations closed on 10 February, over 450 nominations had been submitted, reflecting growing recognition of industry professionals.
The 2025 edition introduces four new award categories: Watersports Personality of the Year, Diving Personality of the Year, Airport Representative of the Year, and Resort Manager of the Year.
The judging process, conducted between 20 February and 15 March, combined judges’ marks with public votes to determine the winners. Judges’ scores will account for 60% of the final decision, while public votes will contribute 40%.
Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in May 2025, presented by BBM. As a key platform for recognising professionals who contribute to the Maldives’ reputation as a leading global travel destination, the awards continue to highlight the dedication and expertise within the industry.
