MTCC to develop Artificial Beach

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been assigned to develop artificial beach.

In a ceremony held on the 15th of May, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu signed on behalf of the Ministry whereas CEO Ibrahim Ziyath signed on behalf of MTCC.

A total of MVR 13.7million has been invested in the project which has to be completed within a five month period from signing the contract.

In addition to developing the beach, MTCC has been assigned to develop the harbour of three islands; AA. Himandhoo, AA. Rasdhoo and S. Maradhoo. A budget of MVR 25.8million has been assigned for developing Himandhoo harbour, MVR 9.9million for the Rasdhoo harbour and MVR 15million for the Maradhoo Harbor.

Dr. Muizzu stated that the government has invested MVR 10million into the development project of artificial beach, along with MVR 3million from MTCC as part of its CSR initiative. An outdoor gym, along with shower stalls and cafes are to be included in the project.
