Maldives has been invited by the Secretariat of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to hold the Artist Camp and Exhibition of Paintings 2019.
This will be the second edition of the event to take place in the Maldives and is scheduled to be held from the 22nd to 27th of September 2019.
The first SAARC Artist Camp in the Maldives was held at Kuda Bandos in 2013 while the exhibition took place in the National Art Gallery.
Organized by the SAARC Cultural Centre, the event aims to promote regional unity while showcasing the rich and diverse culture of the region. It plays an important role in promoting relations an understanding within the region using art as the medium.
Artists from SAARC countries get the opportunity to showcase their work and become part of a creative forum between the artists in the region.
The last Artist Camp and Painting Exhibition was hosted by Sri Lanka earlier this year.
