The 20th addition to the Maldivian fleet arrived yesterday which is a Dash 8 aeroplane.
This plane arrived after its embarkation from New Zealand and its arrival was celebrated at a small function at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA). The function was attended by the Minister of Toursim Mr. Moosa Zameer, Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Ziyadh and the Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Abdul Haris and their Chairman Ahmed Shareef.
Speaking at the function held at the VIP lounge, Tourism Minister stated that when President Yaameen came into office there were only 6 aircraft and the addition of this craft was proof of the strong leadership and wel thought out economic prowess of the President and his policies. In addition ti this the Managing Director of Island Aviation Services stated that without many aircraft, cost effective travelling in the country would not be possible.
With the addition of this new aircraft the number of Dash 8s have increased to 9 and the total fleet adds up to 20 aircraft.
