Maldives has won the ‘Favorite Remote Beach Destination’ award at the 29th Annual Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards Middle East 2016.
The Readers’ Choice Awards celebrates the best in the travel and tourism world according to readers’ survey results, and more than 300,000 travelers took part in voting this year. The award for ‘Favorite Hotel or Resort for Families (International)’ also went to Maldivian luxury island resort ‘Dusit Thani Maldives’, a clear favorite among travelers for family-oriented holidays.
Maldives has been seeing a substantial increase in middle eastern travelers over the past year, with a reported 23.9 percent increase in visitor arrivals from middle eastern countries in 2016.
