The Ministry of Finance and Treasury has launched a new hotline ‘1617’ to provide information and answer queries from the public regarding the work of the ministry.
The new hotline was launched by Ms. Fathimath Rafeeya, Senior Administrative Officer and employee of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury for the past 22 years. Speaking at the launching ceremony, Minister of Finance and Treasury, Mr. Ahmed Munawar said that the hotline will ensure fast and consistent information to the public regarding the ministry.
According to Minister Munawar, about 80% of the calls received by the Finance Ministry are regarding payments, and the bulk number of calls had made operations within the Ministry challenging. The introduction of the hotline is expected to increase the efficiency of the Ministry while increasing convenience for the public.
