Villa College launched the Villa College Research Grant 2024, last Thursday.
Dr. Mohamed Adil, Deputy Vice Rector of Research and Innovation at Villa College, inaugurated the grant. The grant, amounting to a maximum of MVR 500,000, is designated for research projects undertaken by the full-time staff of Villa College.
While individual applications are accepted, joint proposals are strongly encouraged, with opportunities for collaboration extending to visiting scholars, both domestic and international universities/institutions, industry partners and other relevant stakeholders.
Dr. Adil emphasised the inclusivity of the grant, stating, “No matter how modest the scope of the research, the grant scheme aims to facilitate such endeavours.”
He further elaborated on the grant’s objectives, highlighting its role in bolstering Villa College’s research capabilities and tackling real-world challenges in alignment with global sustainability objectives.
Prospective applicants are urged to submit comprehensive proposals outlining the significance of their research and its alignment with targeted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The deadline for submission of research proposals is set for April 30, 2024, providing interested parties with ample time to prepare and submit their proposals for consideration.
