A new resort is to be developed on V. Anbaraa by a joint venture between a Chinese and Sri Lankan company.
The joint venture between Ceylon Hotel Corporation (CHC) and China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC) is reported to develop a resort with 100 rooms.
The 50 million dollars investment is reported to open in 2020.
In 2015, CHEC was reported to have invested USD 27 million on the development of a 50 rooms resort. CHEC is a subsidiary of the company CCC, which is developing the Hulhule’-Male’ bridge.
Anbaraa is a picnic island in Vaavu Atoll.
