Gov’t Seeks Public Input on Changes to Construction Industry Regulations

The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure is inviting public feedback on proposed changes to the Construction Industry Practitioners Regulation. This latest proposal marks the seventh amendment under the Construction Act of the Maldives and is aimed at resolving current issues with professional registration.

The amendment outlines a new process for registering general professionals and introduces a mechanism for temporary withdrawal from the registry upon voluntary request. The ministry is also set to conduct a thorough review of the existing regulation to better address industry needs.
