Maldives Travel Awards today marked the launching of nominations for the Gala Edition 2017, at a corporate evening hosted for Travel Awards sponsors and partners in Anantara Dhigu Resort Maldives. Launched in 2012, Maldives Travel Awards celebrates the leading travel properties, outstanding achievements in service and product innovation. For the first time in 2017, Travel Awards is being held as three separate editions, the first of which was held on July 13th, recognizing ten outstanding personalities in the Maldivian Tourism industry. The Annual Gala, is now marked as the premier edition of Maldives Travel Awards, featuring, tourist resorts, liveaborads, hotel brands and airlines. The premier addition honors outstanding performance in 25 categories in eight key areas. With detailed categories which cover everything from beach to F&B, as well as a wide scope of service experience, brand management and sustainability. This explores the full range of the tourism businesses, and provide a comprehensive look at the most exceptional examples of tourism industry in Maldives.

Winners for Maldives Travel Awards 2017 will be decided by a collective score based on Traveler reviews and popular vote. Nominations for Travel Awards Gala edition will be accepted until 15th October 2016. In addition to above categories MATATO will be presenting 05 awards to recognize special areas of tourism development and sustainability. With growing participation of the industry Maldives Travel Awards today is today marked as the premier travel event of the Maldives. In 2016 MATATO received a record number of 243 nominations for the Awards, and the annual gala was attend by more than 300 travel professionals representing the leading travel properties and brands in Maldives.
